Jingle Bell Time!

This year I have been so excited for the Holiday season and I am pretty sure my excitement stems from having two little kiddos to enjoy it with. It was so nice to not have to travel over Thanksgiving and I could not wait to be home that Sunday and get all our decorations out. It started with our tree purchase (a bit anti-climatic) it was cold, we walked up to the lot, Grant said I want this tree, and there it was. It actually ended up taking 2 days to get all the decorations up, but daily I continue to love Grant's tree choice and the glow this time of year brings into our home. I think Grant likes it too because as soon as we come out for breakfast, he wants the holiday lights on.
Grant is at such a fun age and I've been eating it up, stuffing every Christmas fact I can into his sponge of a brain. We've made cookies (quite the mess), looked at lights, wrote Santa a letter (which included Grant's #1 want-a "little flashlight"-hope Santa can handle that :), playing with the nativity set, and singing lots and lots of Christmas songs. I think Grant's favorite is Jingle Bells, as he sings it daily.
So amongst all the holiday fun, Grant's imaginative play has taken off. It's so entertaining to watch! While Grant's absorbed in this new fun play, Hadley is loving squealing and blowing raspberry's. And even more than doing that, I think she enjoys getting her brother's attention. Frequently Grant will tell Hadley-in between squeals-to "use her indoor voice" and then she giggles with glee and squeals again. The other day when this was taking place I heard Grant say "Hadley, what are we going to do with you?" ...wonder if he's heard this at school. :)
So as we continue to gear up for Christmas, I am geekishly excited about our little family of four's stockings that hang above the fireplace and how we are going to fill them, what the kids' expressions will be Christmas morning, and what's the best way to teach them all this celebrating is really for the birth of our Savior.
