Happy 1 Month!

On Monday Grant was officially 1 month old and had his 1 month Dr's visit. He was 23in (90th percentile), 10lbs (75th percentile), and his head was 14 1/2 in (25th percentile). So our little guy is growing well and Dr. Maxwell, his pediatrician, said he is doing great! In the last week, we've really seen Grant starting to get more of a personality. He is smiling a lot more and starting to try and get some sounds out when you're talking to him. He seems to smile at about anything Nick says to him and always smiles after he sneezes (which cracks us up).
He has also come to enjoy his bath time. Those first few weeks he would cry, but now Nick has filled up the tub with more water and he just hangs out and relaxes. It's pretty cute!

A Lot of First's

The last few weeks have been passing fast and Grant has kept us pretty busy. We were fortunate to have Grandma Mimi come and help out for a few days. We had a good time with her and can't wait till she gets to come back.Grant's been so much fun to watch and we swear he's getting bigger each day! He has had a lot of first's since the last time we posted...his first paci, first bottle, first outing (Minsky's Pizza), and first photo session (the photographer only got peed on once).
These are some little shoes Nick had brought him back from Guatemala. We thought they were so cute on him!
We've also had a lot of fun with friends who have come up from Omaha. He even got to meet his little buddy Hayden Howard. Grant had a pretty busy Valentine's Day...he had pictures, went out for coffee with his mom and dad, then rooted on the Husker's at Charlie Hooper's with the West's. This picture was taken when we got home...I think it was a pretty big day for him!

Grant's 1st Week

Sunday, Jan 25th we were able to bring Grant home. Our first couple nights home were pretty sleepless, but finally by the third day and night we were starting to figure our little guy out (and get a bit more sleep). Grant has been a great eater and even gained a few ounces at his first Dr's appointment. His bilirubin was a little high but we kept an eye on it and it came back down without the need for lights.Grandma Diane was able to come back Wednesday to help out since Nick went back to work Thursday. She was definatley a big help! Not to mention Grant loved all the time he got with her. Grandma Diane even helped us with Grant's first bath at home.Grant had a pretty busy first week meeting his grandparents, most of his aunts and uncles, some cousins (who call him "Baby Gant") and lots of our good friends. We think he is a pretty lucky little boy to have all these wonderful people in his life.
