Grant and Mom's Week

With Nick being away in Guatemala this past week, Grant and I tried to keep ourselves busy doing about everything you could imagine. I must say we did a pretty good job of it and had a fun week! But are also unbelievably excited to have Dad come home tomorrow. Grant enjoyed his first trip to the swimming pool...and then many more after that.He went to the park for the first time and absolutely loved the swings, he was smiling the entire time. He also let out quite a few of his adorable giggles.
Then on Sunday he rolled from his back to his stomach! Then continued to do it multiple more times. This picture is right after he did it the first time, he seemed so proud of himself when I was praising him.We e-mailed Nick pictures of our day each night, so we thought we had some pretty cute ones to share on the blog this week. Hope you enjoy them! :)

4 Months

We don't know where May went but here we are already into June! Grant has done so much over the past month. He has found his fingers and is not particular about any individual one, just whatever gets in his mouth he will be happy to suck. He may actually favor his big toes over any fingers. He found them a few weeks ago and constantly has them in his mouth. He has also accomplished rolling from his stomach to his back and we are working on strengthening those core muscles, so I have a feeling it won't be long before he is sitting up.

He had his 4 month Dr's appointment on May 20th and seems to be staying consistent with his growth. He was 27 1/4 in tall (97%), 15lbs 14oz (75%), and 16 1/2 in head circumference (40%). And once again he was a little champ for his shots.

Grant was quite the little traveling man throughout May as well. He made a couple trips to Omaha and Kearney, then had his first family vacation. We went to Boulder for the Bolder Boulder race again but this year the Sutko family rented a cabin in Estes Park for the week. So needless to say Grant had so much fun being entertained by all the Sutkos' and especially his cousins, Max and Ted. He also got to meet his Great Grandma Douglas!

Grant's easy going personality continues to shine through and we can't get enough of his little smiles, giggles, and slobbery kisses. He is just our happy little guy!

Time Is Flyin!

Grant will be 3 months old on Thursday...hard to believe. He continues to be our happy little guy and will talk your ear off if you let him. It seems each day he is doing something new. Right now he is very into his hands. He always seems to have them up in his mouth or crossed so cute when he's getting sleepy. He has yet to find a thumb or finger, but we think that should be happening any day now. He is also getting quite strong in his bumbo seat.Grant made his first trip to Kearney, with a quick stop in Omaha as well. He had a lot of fun seeing all his family and thought it was great he was able to see a lot of them again for Easter. Mom and dad had their first real night out while they were in Kearney and Grant had a great time with his Grandma Mimi. He also was able to hang out a bit with his buddy Hayden Howard. We have a feeling these two are going to have a lot of fun in their years to come!

Happy 2 Month Grant!

It's been a couple of weeks since we've posted and as usual Grant's been a busy boy. He had his 2 month Dr's appointment on Monday. He was 25in-97%, 12lbs 14oz-75%, and 15 1/2in head circum.-45%. He is growing to be quite the big boy! We also tried Grant in this little sling and found that he really likes it.
Grant also was finally able to meet the Twits. He seemed to enjoy there interest in him (maybe a bit much hands on interest :) but he was smiling none the less. He was able to participate in his first race-the Westport St. Patrick's Day Run (well actually mom and Grant walked and everyone else ran). Then he got to spend 2 whole days with Grandma Diane while mom took her ACLS class. It was a long two days for mom, but Grant seemed to have a lot of fun with his Grandma! It sounds like he was smiling and talking up a storm to her.Grant was pretty excited for March Madness and courtesy of Kimple supported Duke. He also was given this adorable knitted Husker hat from our friend's mom. He's already a great sports fan!

Grant's Baptism

Grant had a very big past weekend...he got baptized. His godparents, Jeff and Angie, flew in Friday, so he (and us) were able to spend some extra time with them. Then on Saturday a lot more of the Sutko/Frost crew arrived into town. He did an excellent job with the baptism, considering he slept threw the entire thing. Then he was a champ, smiling and just being cute for everyone at the brunch we had after the baptism. As you can see from the picture he was quite pooped by the end of the day. He had a great time celebrating his big day with everyone and can't wait till he gets to see them again!

Happy 1 Month!

On Monday Grant was officially 1 month old and had his 1 month Dr's visit. He was 23in (90th percentile), 10lbs (75th percentile), and his head was 14 1/2 in (25th percentile). So our little guy is growing well and Dr. Maxwell, his pediatrician, said he is doing great! In the last week, we've really seen Grant starting to get more of a personality. He is smiling a lot more and starting to try and get some sounds out when you're talking to him. He seems to smile at about anything Nick says to him and always smiles after he sneezes (which cracks us up).
He has also come to enjoy his bath time. Those first few weeks he would cry, but now Nick has filled up the tub with more water and he just hangs out and relaxes. It's pretty cute!

A Lot of First's

The last few weeks have been passing fast and Grant has kept us pretty busy. We were fortunate to have Grandma Mimi come and help out for a few days. We had a good time with her and can't wait till she gets to come back.Grant's been so much fun to watch and we swear he's getting bigger each day! He has had a lot of first's since the last time we posted...his first paci, first bottle, first outing (Minsky's Pizza), and first photo session (the photographer only got peed on once).
These are some little shoes Nick had brought him back from Guatemala. We thought they were so cute on him!
We've also had a lot of fun with friends who have come up from Omaha. He even got to meet his little buddy Hayden Howard. Grant had a pretty busy Valentine's Day...he had pictures, went out for coffee with his mom and dad, then rooted on the Husker's at Charlie Hooper's with the West's. This picture was taken when we got home...I think it was a pretty big day for him!
